Edisto Adventures for the whole family.

See what sea life exists in the island coastal waters of South Carolina by taking a Edisto Island shrimping tour. By trawling and dragging the channels around Edisto, the net catches all kinds of sea creatures, including a Southern Lowcountry favorite:  shrimp. Learn how to catch, clean and cook shrimp. They’ll never taste better than when you catch ‘em and eat ‘em fresh!

While trawling, baited pots are also cast to catch blue crabs, another seafood delicacy with a sweet meat. You can also learn how to catch, clean and cook crab.

If you prefer fishing to shrimping or crabbing, that’s OK, too. You’ll most likely come across red drum, black drum or shark (equipment and bait provided).

Sea birds and dolphins follow shrimping boats, so there is plenty of wildlife viewing for those who may not want to “get in on the action.” When the Miss Ellen is close to shore, you may also spot such coastal birds as the Great Blue Heron or Snowy Egret along the marshes. Bring your binoculars!

On our Edisto shrimping charters, you decide what you want to do:

  • Watching circling dolphins
  • Trawling a shrimp net
  • Sorting the catch
  • Pulling your own crab pot
  • Fishing (equipment provided)
  • Sightseeing or bird watching
  • “Catch it and keep it”
